Chase has confirmed that its Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) will close in early January 2026. The lounge — the first Sapphire Lounge to open worldwide when it launched in 2022 — will stay open through January 4, 2026 and will be removed from Chase’s lounge network effective January 5, 2026.
Chase has not provided a reason for the closure and has not said whether a replacement space or relocation will be offered. The company’s lounge directory simply lists the HKG location as being removed in early January, with no indication the shutdown is temporary.
The closure affects Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders and Priority Pass members who use the HKG location. Travelers will still have several lounge choices at Hong Kong International. Priority Pass members can access Kyra Lounge (near Gate 23) and multiple Plaza Premium Lounge locations. American Express cardholders with Centurion access can use the Centurion Lounge in Terminal 1. Premium-cabin passengers and elite flyers can also use carrier lounges operated by Cathay Pacific, Qantas and other airlines.
Bottom line: the Hong Kong Sapphire Lounge — Chase’s first international Sapphire Lounge — will close on January 5, 2026, after operating since 2022. Chase has not disclosed next steps for the space or whether an alternative lounge will be offered to Chase cardholders. Meanwhile, the Sapphire Lounge program continues to expand its footprint in the United States, adding more premium airport locations for cardholders.
