Riverside Luxury Cruises Launches 2028 Bookings with New Ship

Riverside Luxury Cruises announces 2028 river cruise bookings, introducing the Riverside Mahler to its fleet.

Exciting News for River Cruising Enthusiasts

Riverside Luxury Cruises, a renowned company based in the UK, has just unveiled its 2028 Europe river cruise schedule, featuring the highly anticipated debut of the Riverside Mahler. Formerly known as the SS Elisabeth, this new vessel will set sail for the first time in May 2028.

The Riverside Mahler will complement Riverside's existing fleet, which includes other notable ships such as the Riverside Debussy. Together, these vessels will traverse the beautiful waterways connecting the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers.

A Growing Fleet for More Adventures

In addition to Riverside Mahler and Debussy, the company operates the Riverside Mozart, which offers voyages along the Upper and Lower Danube, as well as the Riverside Ravel, which cruises along the Rhône and Saône rivers in France. The Riverside Bach has been chartered by Uniworld.

With the introduction of Riverside Mahler, Riverside Luxury Cruises plans to greatly enhance its service capacity. In 2028, there will be a total of 12 departures through the Main-Danube Canal, a substantial increase from just 4 departures in 2026 and 2 in 2027. This crucial waterway connects the Rhine and Danube, creating a navigable link between the North Sea and the Black Sea.

2028 Itineraries and Special Offers

The upcoming cruise program features 10 itineraries each from Budapest to Regensburg and back, along with 2 Dutch Waterways routes and 3 sailings along the Lower Danube. An exclusive 18% discount off the cruise fare is available for reservations made by June 30, 2027, applicable to all suite categories and package options.

Jennifer Halboth, CEO of Riverside Luxury Cruises Americas, noted that the expanded fleet will not only allow for additional departures on popular routes but will also introduce new itineraries and increased operational flexibility. The added vessel will help the company adapt to changing river conditions and ensure smooth operations.

Variety of Experiences Throughout the Season

The 2028 season is set to run from early spring until late December, offering a range of cruise lengths from short three-night breaks to extensive 23-night journeys. Special themed sailings will be available, featuring guided activities, outdoor adventures, and local festivities.

Riverside Debussy will kick off the season in March with charming tulip cruises through the Netherlands and Belgium. Following that, it will navigate the Lower Danube and introduce new nine- and ten-night itineraries between Amsterdam and Basel, featuring the picturesque Moselle River in longer sailings throughout the Rhine region.

Riverside Mahler will connect key locations in Germany, Austria, and Hungary during the summer months before returning to the Rhine in October, culminating with festive Christmas cruises along the Danube.

Unique Itineraries on the Danube

On the Danube, Riverside Mozart will present a fresh seven-night itinerary running from Vienna to Budapest, which includes a scenic journey through the Wachau Valley. The 2028 schedule for this ship will also include a stop at Győr, a fascinating Hungarian city celebrated for its stunning Baroque architecture.

Themed voyages on the Danube will offer a variety of experiences, including three Riverside Active cycling cruises planned for July and August, as well as themed golf cruises coinciding with Hungary’s National Day celebrations.

Exploring Southern France with Riverside Ravel

Meanwhile, Riverside Ravel will maintain its presence along the Rhône and Saône rivers, visiting captivating destinations like Lyon, Avignon, Arles, Viviers, and Tain-l'Hermitage. Guests can look forward to curated excursions highlighting regional wonders such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the iconic Pont du Gard.
