After a $100 million renovation, the 17-acre Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami reopens December 8 following a closure in May and returns as a Marriott Bonvoy-affiliated property just ahead of the holiday season. Developer Gencom led the redesign with Hart Howerton, DesignAgency and Chapi Chapo Design, delivering a refreshed lobby with an ocean-facing glass façade, new sculptural lighting and a fountain terrace that evokes an oasis. New and updated amenities include: the Ritz-Carlton Spa, Key Biscayne with coed relaxation areas, multiple treatment rooms and an outdoor garden; a fitness center programmed by Miami-based brand Tremble; the Cliff Drysdale Tennis Center, reopened with tennis, pickleball and padel courts; a dining lineup that features Italian-inspired Luma, Greek- and Turkish-focused Paralia, RumBar in the lobby, Dune on the beach, a wood-fired poolside pizza spot, an ice cream shop, a chocolate shop and an outpost of local wellness operator Pura Vida Miami; plus family-focused offerings such as a new Ritz Kids Club with interactive experiences. Derek Flint, the property’s market general manager, says the refreshed resort carries forward the hotel’s legacy of elegant, effortless luxury while inviting guests to slow down, connect and enjoy the balance between the city’s energy and the sea’s rhythm. Cash rates currently start around $873 per night and can top $1,000 during winter; Marriott Bonvoy members can book award nights from roughly 67,000 points per night.
