Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) will host a temporary Clark County marriage license office in Terminal 1 baggage claim from Wednesday, Feb. 4, through Monday, Feb. 16. The pop-up, staffed by the Clark County clerk’s office, operates daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the downtown clerk’s office remains open 8 a.m. to midnight daily.
The airport — which features more than 1,400 slot machines, an aviation museum, smoking areas, shops, bars and airline lounges — serves as a convenient first stop for couples visiting the city known as the Marriage Capital of the World. By filing for a license at LAS, couples can take care of paperwork as soon as they land and spend more time enjoying Las Vegas. Applicants may also begin their application online up to a year before arrival to speed the process.
Fees and basic requirements:
– Marriage license fee: $102; vow renewal certificate: $21.
– Payment: credit or debit card only; cash not accepted.
– Both applicants must appear in person, be at least 18 years old, and present government-issued ID showing name and age.
– Applicants must not be currently married and must not be closer than second cousins (including half cousins).
Nevada rules to know:
– No waiting period: couples can marry immediately after receiving a license.
– No blood tests required.
– Nevada marriage records are public and cannot be sealed or designated confidential.
Clark County Clerk Lynn Marie Goya said the airport service is meant to make things easier: “Couples can grab their bags, get the marriage license right there at the airport and then go get married and have fun.” Many visitors decide on a whim after seeing airport signage.
Background and recent numbers:
The LAS pop-up first ran in February 2018 (it did not operate in 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic). Licenses issued at past pop-ups: 180 licenses over nine days in 2018; 307 over 17 days in 2020; and 380 over 15 days in 2025. The clerk’s office expects to issue additional licenses during this year’s 13-day pop-up but cautions that national tourism trends and a recent dip in Las Vegas visitation could affect totals. Tourism Analytics reported a 7.5% year-over-year drop in Las Vegas tourist travel in 2025, and Clark County saw an approximate 8% decline in marriage licenses.
Visitor statistics:
About 80% of Clark County’s year-round marriage licenses go to out-of-state couples, and more than 20% are issued to international visitors. “As far as I know, Las Vegas is the only place in the world where you can get your marriage license at the airport,” Goya said. “We make it fun for couples, because we adore them.”
