Delta Air Lines is running a short, three-day SkyMiles award flash sale with reduced mileage prices to several transatlantic cities. The sale includes discounted awards in Delta One, Main, Premium Select and Comfort cabins (note: Premium Select and Comfort discounts apply to February travel only). Most of the lowest-mileage options originate from New York-area airports, with some deals out of Miami, Chicago and a few other U.S. cities. Travel must be completed by April 30 and bookings must be made by midnight Thursday, Feb. 5.
Highlights
– Sale fares start at 26,000 SkyMiles each way on select routes, plus applicable taxes and fees.
– Holders of eligible Delta cobranded American Express cards can get roughly a 15% reduction in required miles on award bookings (the Amex discount is applied at checkout).
– Many of the cheapest awards include a short connection; a handful of strong nonstop values also appear.
Representative fares found
– LGA → BCN: Late February/early March availability from about 26,000 SkyMiles each way, plus roughly $55 in taxes and fees. Applying an eligible Delta Amex reduces the miles required.
– JFK → DUB (nonstop): Late‑February nonstop for around 26,000 SkyMiles each way, plus about $50 in fees — one of the better nonstop bargains.
– MIA → MAD: February itineraries discovered for roughly 32,000 SkyMiles round-trip (in some examples shown as about 16K each way), plus about $60 in taxes and fees; many of these routings include a JFK connection. Delta Amex savings may further lower the mileage cost.
– JFK → RAK: Round-trip from New York to Marrakech seen for about 35,600 SkyMiles.
– ORD → AMS: April flights from Chicago to Amsterdam surfaced for roughly 34,000 SkyMiles each way, with higher taxes and fees (example showed about $127).
Search tips
– Log into your SkyMiles account and use Delta’s Price Calendar to quickly locate the lowest-mileage dates.
– Check the mileage total both with and without the Delta Amex discount so you know the net miles you’ll pay.
Bottom line
This flash sale is a solid chance to snag a spring transatlantic award for fewer SkyMiles, especially if you can originate from New York. Inventory and taxes vary by route and date, and Delta is concurrently offering discounts on some domestic award travel (up to 20% off in certain markets). If you see a good itinerary, book before the sale ends and confirm whether your Delta cobranded American Express card will reduce the miles due.
