What does a $100 million makeover look like? The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami has the answer. The 17-acre shoreline resort, closed since May for renovations, reopens Dec. 8 as a Marriott Bonvoy-affiliated property ahead of the busy holiday season.
The redesign was led by developer Gencom in collaboration with design studios Hart Howerton, DesignAgency and Chapi Chapo Design. Guests will notice a refreshed lobby with an ocean-facing glass façade, new sculptural lighting and an oasis-like fountain terrace.
New and updated amenities include:
– The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Key Biscayne: coed relaxation areas, multiple treatment rooms and an outdoor garden.
– Fitness center: programming by Miami-based fitness brand Tremble.
– Cliff Drysdale Tennis Center: reopened with tennis, pickleball and padel courts.
– Dining and outlets: Italian-inspired Luma; Greek- and Turkish-focused Paralia; RumBar (lobby bar); Dune (beach bar); a wood-fired poolside pizza spot; plus an ice cream shop, chocolate shop and an outpost of local wellness spot Pura Vida Miami.
– Family offerings: a new Ritz Kids Club with interactive experiences.
“For generations, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami has offered a retreat defined by elegance and effortless luxury — a place where unforgettable memories are made from romantic escapes to family getaways,” said Derek Flint, the property’s market general manager. “This next chapter carries that legacy forward — celebrating the art of slowing down, connecting deeply, and finding beauty in every moment between [the] city’s energy and timeless rhythm of the sea.”
