Chase’s partnership with Lyft has expanded: holders of Southwest Rapid Rewards credit cards can now earn bonus points on Lyft rides through Dec. 31, 2027. No special enrollment is needed — just set your Southwest card as the default payment method in the Lyft app to begin earning.
Earning rates (valid through Dec. 31, 2027):
– Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority Credit Card and Southwest Rapid Rewards Performance Business Credit Card: 5 points per $1 spent
– Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Credit Card and Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Business Credit Card: 3 points per $1 spent
– Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus Credit Card: 2 points per $1 spent
How it works
The benefit is automatic once your Southwest card is the default Lyft payment method. There’s no minimum number of rides and no published spending cap, so eligible cardholders will accumulate Rapid Rewards points on Lyft purchases without additional steps.
Things to consider
Compare the Lyft earning rate on your Southwest card with other cards in your wallet. For example, the Chase Sapphire Preferred can earn 5 points per $1 on Lyft as well, though that offer requires activation. If another card earns the same or better rewards (or offers other perks), use the card that gives you the best overall value for that ride.
Bottom line
If you carry a Southwest Rapid Rewards card, check its Lyft earning tier and make it your default payment in the Lyft app if it’s your best option for accumulating points. The Lyft bonus runs through Dec. 31, 2027 and could be extended or updated later.
