American Express is tightening which Peacock subscriptions qualify for the Amex Platinum Card® digital entertainment statement credit. Beginning Aug. 1, 2026, certain Peacock purchases will no longer be eligible for the card’s up to $25 monthly digital entertainment credit (enrollment required).
What’s changing
– Peacock bundled subscriptions will no longer qualify. This includes bundles that package Peacock with other streaming services.
– Peacock add-on subscriptions will no longer qualify.
– Peacock subscriptions purchased through third parties (for example, billed through another service or platform) will no longer qualify.
What still qualifies
– Stand-alone Peacock subscriptions purchased directly from Peacock will remain eligible for the credit, provided they meet the card’s other terms. Cardmembers can still receive up to $25 per month (up to $300 per year) toward eligible digital entertainment purchases.
Who is affected
– Only Amex Platinum cardmembers who use the monthly digital entertainment credit toward Peacock subscriptions are affected. If you subscribe directly to an eligible Peacock plan through Peacock, you do not need to change anything. If you currently get Peacock through a bundle, as an add-on, or via a third-party billing arrangement, those payments will no longer count for the statement credit after Aug. 1, 2026.
Why it matters
– Some cardholders have used bundled or third-party Peacock purchases to maximize the monthly credit. The change narrows eligible purchases, so those strategies may no longer work.
Bottom line
Peacock remains an eligible partner for the Amex Platinum digital entertainment credit, but starting Aug. 1, 2026, eligibility will be limited to stand-alone Peacock subscriptions purchased directly from Peacock. Review how your Peacock subscription is billed before the change takes effect to determine whether you need to switch plans or payment arrangements to keep receiving the credit.
