Sixt Rent a Car has launched Sixt One, a new U.S. loyalty program that switches to a spending-based model with points-earning, updated elite tiers and the ability to redeem points for car rentals. Sixt has more than 2,200 locations in over 105 countries (100+ in the U.S.). The program is free to join and offers immediate perks like priority lanes and app check-in at select locations.
How to earn and redeem Sixt One points
– Members earn rental points and status points on the base rate, mileage and protection charges. Points are calculated in euros and are credited within a few business days.
– Earning rate: 1 point per 1 euro spent (roughly $1.15), excluding taxes and fees.
– Rental points can be redeemed for bookings; Sixt says members can cover up to a seven-day car rental with points.
– To redeem, log in, select your vehicle and choose the points payment option on the booking “Review your booking” page. You can allocate the number of points to apply; applicable taxes, fees, surcharges and add-ons still must be paid.
– Rental points expire after 24 months.
Partner earning options
– Sixt One partners with airline and hotel programs so members can opt to earn partner points or miles instead of Sixt rental points.
– Example: Delta SkyMiles earns 2 miles per dollar spent on rentals, per Sixt’s partner information.
– To change earning preference: log in, click “Sixt One,” scroll to the bottom and select “Change rewards program,” then choose “Partner rewards program.” When booking, select the partner program to credit.
Sixt One elite status tiers
Sixt One now has four status tiers. Status points are earned at the same 1 point per 1 euro rate (excluding taxes and fees).

– Priority service lanes (select locations)

– Diamond lounge access (select locations, including LAX and select European sites)

Status year and grandfathering
– Sixt One status is valid through the end of the following calendar year (e.g., achieve Platinum in June 2026 and retain it through December 2027).
– Members who had Sixt status before the overhaul will keep their existing tier if their account is active and they enroll in Sixt One by November 2027.
Bottom line
Sixt One is a free-to-join program that immediately grants useful perks like priority lanes and app check-in. The shift to a spending-based model simplifies earning and redemption and adds a four-tier elite structure with increasing benefits. Points expire after 24 months and members can choose to earn partner miles instead of Sixt points.
