Chase has confirmed that its Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) — the first location to open in the Sapphire Lounge portfolio — will close in early January 2026. The lounge, which debuted in 2022 as Chase’s first step into premium airport lounges, will remain open through Jan. 4, 2026, and will leave the Sapphire Lounge network effective Jan. 5, 2026.
Chase has not provided a reason for the closure or said whether a replacement space will be offered. There’s no indication the shutdown is temporary or part of a planned relocation; the company’s lounge directory simply notes the lounge will be removed from the network in early January.
The closure affects Sapphire Reserve cardholders and Priority Pass members who use the HKG location. Travelers will still have other lounge options at Hong Kong International, which is well served by multiple lounges across its terminals. Priority Pass members can visit Kyra Lounge (near Gate 23) and several Plaza Premium Lounge locations. Cardholders with American Express cards that include Centurion Lounge access can use the Centurion Lounge in Terminal 1. Additionally, premium-cabin passengers and airline elites may access carrier lounges from Cathay Pacific, Qantas and others.
Bottom line: The Hong Kong Sapphire Lounge — Chase’s first international Sapphire Lounge — will close on Jan. 5, 2026. Chase has not said what will become of the space or whether a different lounge option will be extended to Chase cardholders. The Sapphire Lounge network continues to expand in the U.S., offering cardholders additional premium airport experiences.
